Damien Mazza, born in 1988 in Geneva, developed a passion for films very early on, fueled by his vast collection of DVDs and his frequent visits to the cinema and a video store. Graduating from a Geneva film school in 2010, he began a career as a screenwriter, quickly attracting the attention of producers thanks to his talent for creating captivating characters and dialogue.

His career took a turn in 2014 when he began producing short fiction films and documentaries in the United States and England. In 2021, he took things a step further by directing “Like Father, Like Son,” a short film that he also wrote and produced with his company, Backpack Pictures.

“Like Father, Like Son” explores the conflicting relationships between a father and his son, highlighting the difficulty of filial transmission and the repetitive cycle of family stories. The film asks deep questions about fatherhood and the possibility of breaking cycles of negative behavior inherited from previous generations.
